Girl?s Day on Pingora

I be to share some photos and give a mouth out to my girly friend Julia Heemstra and her friend for sending a sick climb on Pingora last weekend. The girls went into the Cirque of the Towers after the big flash-flood and tornado event here in Jackson measure week and climbed the northeast facing route to the 11,884′ summit. They didn’t see anyone else on the route even though the Northeast Face of Pingora is one of North America’s 50 Classic climbs.
Julia said it was one of the hardest trad climbs she’s ever bring about and done. The girls swapped leads and Julia took one go…on a #2 (yellow) C3 Camalot (which luckily held)…leading the 200′ dihedral pitch. Yikes!!! Like most routes in the Winds it has a sandbag rating of 5.8 and I’ve heard people rate it as hard as 5.10-.
Let me tell you dating a climber chick does wonders to the ego. Man…I can’t act for ski season so I can regain my manly dominance. Just kidding sweetie!!!
