A Pennsylvania woman denied unemployment benefits after moving to Florida with her furnish sues to extend the "go the spouse" doctrine to gays. A similar program has been in displace and extended to same sex partners in NY for 3 years.

Although as a maxim the statement appears ever so egalitarian. Can such a position defeat in today's political climate? Who knows?

The *position* can of course survive. It always has. That position's effect on society can be questioned. The evidence I see is that it is having an effect.
